Our Community
We are so proud to be part of the wider Easton Community. We aim to be active within the community and beyond our local area.
Throughout Easton CE Primary School we have many amazing opportunities to interact with those beyond our school. We have many links within the local area, some of which are listed below.
Easton Christian Family Centre
We are extremely lucky to have ECFC on the site next door to us. Together the Church supports us through hosting children throughout the year, coming into school for workshops, hosting school prayer meetings and many other activities. The Church also have been instrumental in the Prayer Tents initiative which works alongside local Muslim women to run a spiritual reflective session within the school at various points in the year.
Redland Church
Through links with Redland Church, our Y5 children can access Teaching and Learning Guides (TLG). This means specific children work 1:1 with an adult on SMSC, they work together for a period of weeks and really enjoy this experience. Redland Church also help facilitate the group Christian Encounters who facilitate projects such as Christmas in a Box.
Albaseera Mosque
Each year the school welcomes the local Muslim community onto the school field for their Eid prayers. In partnership with school adults and the Albaseera Mosque, the celebrations are a fantastic way for the community to join together.
Wild Goose Cafe
Just down Stapleton Road is the Wild Goose Cafe which we collect food parcels for every Harvest. Children from the school then deliver the collections to the cafe.
Mini Police
Children can apply to become part of the Mini Police and work alongside Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs). It provides children with the opportunity to develop their sense of social justice and moral responsibility.
Community of Purpose Football
Children in Year 5 are selected to become part of the Community of Purpose football team. They pair with another school to create a football team and train together for a few sessions before competing in the Bristol Together Championship Tournament.
Falcon Summer Camps
Falcon Summer Camps work alongside a range of local churches to provide a week long camp including physical activities and spiritual opportunities. Teachers at the school work with those at the church to choose about 25 children aged 7 to 11. Although the camps are already very affordable, some families cannot afford the price and so local fundraising enables some provision.
